Parent A is the parent the children live with most of the time; Parent B has visitation from Friday at the exchange time until Sunday at the same time, every other weekend. Change the exchange time in the settings. To add a midweek dinner or overnight, or to share time equally, switch the schedule to 2-2-5-5, 2-2-3 or alternating weeks.
Texas parents usually follow the standard possession order instead (1st, 3rd and 5th weekends): use the Texas standard possession order calendar.
Pros and cons
- Predictable. The same weekends repeat every two weeks.
- Few exchanges. Two handovers every two weeks.
- Long gaps for the visiting parent. Twelve days between weekends unless you add a midweek visit.
- About 14% of overnights. Every other weekend alone gives the visiting parent about 52 overnights a year before holidays and summer.
Holidays and other schedules
Holidays and school breaks usually override the regular schedule. Set them on the holiday custody schedule page and they show up here. Compare patterns on the custody calendar, or see the 2-2-5-5, 2-2-3, 3-4-4-3 and week on, week off pages.
